Natalie & Amy's 'Trash To Treasure' Challenge

Good evening all. I hope you have all had a lovely weekend, the weather has certainly been kind to us all here in the UK.

Today being the 30th of the month means it is time for a new challenge at Natalie & Amy's so this should have been up this morning, I had it in my head the challenge started on the 1st oops sorry ladies.

This month Wendy chose the challenge of 'Trash To Treasure', well I already struggle with this type of challenge but then having taken nearly two days to complete a project my lovely grandson came along and spilt a glass of coke all over it whilst it was drying grrr (You got to love them haven't you lol). I would have posted the picture had it not of turned to a pile of mush, so here is my very quick version of the first coaster I made.

I have had these coasters which came free in the post from the British Red Cross for ages and they were just sat in my box waiting for someone to either need them or the kids to play with them. Sophie my 6 year old step grandaughter loves everything pink, purple and girlie including fairies so this was made for her. I had made the whole family coasters from tiles and decorated with their names using vinyl awhile ago and Sohpie said she needed another one for her bedroom for when she was ill and mummy let her have a drink on the bedside table. As her bedroom is also pinks and purples that is what I went with.

I firstly removed the gloss layer from both sides of the coaster and that left a kraft coloured type layer to work with. I firstly distressed it with Tim Holtz 'Broken China' ink, then I ran some Core'dinations Core Essentials purple card stock through my grand calibur with a Crafts Too 'Hearts' embossing folder before sanding it back to reveal the lilac hearts and attached this with the Stix 2 Hot Glue Gun and Hot Melt Glue Sticks. I used my Silhouette Cameo to cut out the name using the 'Cool Dots' font on Core'dinations Bling type card stock. For the other side I used some Dovecraft 'Back To Basics II' paper cut to shape and distressed. I did have a little fairy image on this side of the first one and an oddment of trim but hey ho that is how it goes.
All items are available from Natalie & Amy except the coaster.

If I get around to adding an image and extra's to this I will update it tomorrow.

Just to show you, here is the little monster that caused all the trouble having just fed himself for the first time lol.
He is still gorgeous in his nanny's eyes!!

Have a lovely week.

My Time To Craft 'Masking' Challenge

Good morning all, I hope the weather is better where you as it has been raining here since Thursday none stop!

This week at My Time To Craft we are challenged to 'Masking' this means taking two images and merging them into one, you can use either rubber stamps or digital images to do this.

For my card I have used two Belles 'n' Whistles stamps, the left one is called 'Gingerbread Love' and the right one is 'Rockin' Around'. I think this worked out quite well with the chosen images but I am not sure on the colours, there just seems to be so many in it. I guess it will be nice for a child! Good morning all, I hope you are all well and looking forward to a great weekend. Boy is it windy here, lovely and sunny but oh so windy exactly as it was last Saturday when we had a surprise party for my mum's 70th birthday!

This week at My Time To Craft we are challenged to 'Spots & Stripes', a nice easy challenge which has lots of scope and there are so many pretty spots and stripe papers around at the moment.

For my card I used this adorable Sweetpea Stamps image called 'Little Friends', I was lucky enough to win 5 stamps from Elisabeth Bell back in April and having now paid the ransom to customs this little cutie was in the package lol. I have teamed it with First Edition 'Blank Canvas' papers, Spellbinders Edgeabilities Border Dies and some white nail heads from Easypeasy Crafts which I brought a few weeks back at the Lincoln Papercraft Show.

Sparkles Monthly 'Steampunk or Vintage' Challenge

Good afternoon all, after the last couple of days being so so hot today has been cool in comparison and is even raining now boo hoo, bring back the sunshine.

Today I have for you a card I made for the Sparkles Monthly Challenge which should have been posted on Saturday but I was a little tied up arranging a surprise party for my mum's 70th birthday.

This month we are challenged to 'Steampunk or Vintage' now when it comes to steampunk I just have no idea where to start and I was so glad when Shaz added the option of vintage to the agenda. I used another of my Kanban design sheets and backing papers and teamed it with some distress ink around all the edges, some seam binding in three different colours and a border die cut which is supposed to be stars but I think looks more like cogs! Not much else to it but I actually kind of like it plus I brought one of those Tim Holtz distressing tools and found it so much easier to use.

My Time To Craft 'Fairytale' Challenge

Good afternoon all. I hope you are all enjoying the weekend even though it is a little chillier than it has been over the last week.
Okay so this week at My Time To Craft we are challenged to make a 'Fairytale'  creation and I decided on using Cinderella's Slipper for the front and making a pop up card. Which was all good until I broke my beloved Silhouette machine cutting the pieces and had to order a new part, that arrived the very next day (great service), then I realised I had left my camera at my son's house. David has an ipad but  by the time I had made my card on Saturday morning he was out with it, then when he came back I took the photo's but couldn't get them to upload into blogger nor email them to myself for cropping and such. So after all the delays, you now see my badly taken photo's but I thought that's is better than nothing I guess. Once I get my camera back I will take some more photo's and replace these.

I have kept the front fairly simple as the inside has the detail.

I'll be back later to edit the challenges.

Thanks for stopping by.

Good morning all, I hope you are all enjoying the start of the weekend.

I have some great news to share with you today and that is that I was invited to join the ladies at Silhouette Challenges as part of their design team and as you can see I said I very quick YES! My regulars will know just how much I love using my Silhouette Cameo and this will give me lots of chances to do things that perhaps I wouldn't normally do.

So onto the challenge which as read would of seen above is 'Print and Cut' which is one of the features that I love on the Silhouette. I have made two cards for you one using the traditional style of print and cut using a file from the Silhouette Store and another using print and cut with a digital stamp from my own library of images having been purchased from Sassy Cheryl's.

For this first card I used this subway art by Echo Park and as it was quite large just added a backing piece of card stock and a ribbon.

Die Cut Shape - Silhouette Store Subway Art by Echo Park #40693
Ribbon - Ribbon Store

For this second card I used this cute Sassy Cheryl's image which I cut out with my Silhouette Cameo (I love how neat it cuts around the image) before colouring with Promarkers & Flexmarkers. I also cut the mat layer and the paw border on my Silhouette. I teamed the card with First Edition 'Sweet Owl' papers and some heart pearls. I haven't added a sentiment as this card could be used for a few occasions.

My Time To Craft 'Bookmark' Challenge

Please scroll down for my Crafty Calendar Challenges card.

Good morning again. I am sorry this should have followed my Crafty Calendar post but Mr Blogger obviously didn't want to play ball!

I am back this time with my creation for the My Time To Craft challenge where we were challenged to make a 'Bookmark'

I used a cutting file from the Silhouette Store by Samantha Walker to make this little bookmark for my step grandson Samuel. I actually made this a few weeks ago as he needed one for when he started his new school. The bookmark had to have the school colour in it of Royal Blue so I used this for the back, then cut a white layer for the front and sketched his name onto it with glitter markers from Silhouette. Samuel coloured the words in himself. This was a very simple project which took about 10 minutes to make.

Inspire Me Friday - Anything Goes

That's all from me, enjoy your weekend. The glorious day we had yesterday has now gone but at least there is no rain!!

Crafty Calendar 'Things With Wings' Challenge

Good morning everyone I hope you are all well. Where did that gorgeous sunshine come from yesterday, not that I am complaining, another day or so of it would be much appreciated. We have had a lovely day in the garden with our step grandchildren and our grandson. Oh he is so funny when you put him on the grass, he doesn't like the feel of it and doesn't know which limb to lift first to get away from it lol.

Anyhow onto the matter in hand, this month at Crafty Calendar Challenge we are challenged to 'Things With Wings' however it needs to be apart of the main image and not just a small butterfly added as an embellishment.

This month we are sponsored by Whimsy Stamps and so for my card I used this lovely little dragon called 'Dragon's Little Friend' illustrated by Meljen Designs. As it is quite a big image and I coloured it brightly I kept it quite simple. I used papers from My Mind's Eye Miss Caroline's range called 'Dolled Up' and added some of these clear dew drops which have been in my stash forever.

6" Card Blank - Boyes
Card Stock - Bazzill
Dew Drops - Unknown

Promarkers Used:-
Dragon - Lime Twist, Lime Green, Lime Zest, Champagne, Tan & Cinnamon
Butterfly - Orange

Challenges I would like to enter this into:-
Card Making Mama's - Rubber Stamps

That's all from me for now, I will be back shortly with my My Time To Craft post.
